Update:
Tally (LDSSO Handle: Elena1975) and I met on -- on
May 24, 2001?! We were married for time and all
eternity on May 24, 2002, in the Salt Lake Temple!
Thank you -- for bringing us together! We have
never been happier. :-)
Hello! :-D I was born in Salt Lake City but
raised in the former Canal Zone (Republic of
Panama--my father was with the US Federal
Government. I am currently completing a five-year
general surgery residency program. I have done
quite a bit with my life, educationwise, since my
mission to Costa Rica, Panama and the San Blas
Islands. For example, I graduated from the
University of Washington (UW) with a Bachelors of
Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1989. I then
attended the Cornell University Medical College
from 1989-1991. In 1991, I requested and received
an academic leave of absence to pursue a Ph.D. in
Bioengineering at the UW. While there, I had the
pleasure of interacting with a totally awesome LDS
institute director--John L. Lund, a true spiritual
giant and mentor. I graduated with the Ph.D. in
1996 after defending my dissertation: "A
microstructural and biomechanical analysis of the
mitral valve" (the mitral valve guards the
entrance from the heart's left atrium into its
left ventricle). I returned to the Cornell
University Medical College and continued my
medical education, graduating with a M.D. with
Honors in Research in 1998. Whew! Now that all of
that "educating" is behind me I believe
that I can finally relax and get down to the real
business at hand--finding an eternal companion!
;-) Many have emailed me and asked me what I seek
in an eternal companion, so I have penned a few
thoughts: I am interested in meeting an attractive
daughter of God who is between the ages of 22-33,
single, never married, and without children from a
prior relationship. She would also be beautiful
spiritually and mentally. That she considers
keeping in shape and physically fit while eating
healthfully is very important. A strong testimony
of our Savior and His Gospel is imperative. She
might have scholarly, literary or artistic
interests. She would be striving to be a leader in
the LDS community. Hence, I seek a woman of
integrity, a LDS daughter of God who takes Christ
very seriously in her life. That she is looking
for a best friend and that, as the future mother
of our children, she is charitable, kind, and
compassionate would please me. Moreover, she would
not be selfish nor overly self-involved. Should
these thoughts describe you, feel free to contact
me!

I enjoy good classical music (Mozart rules!),
excellent cuisine of all ethnicities, opera,
ballet, plays on Broadway (Les Miserable and the
Phantom of the Opera are my all time favorites
with the Diary of Anne Frank a close third), and
the symphony. I love the Book of Mormon with a
passion! I also thrive on good works by authors
ranging from any of the Apostles, William
Shakespeare, Victor Hugo, Tom Clancy, C. S. Lewis,
Gerald Lund, and John Lund to Truman Madsen.
Building or repairing with my hands makes me happy
and helps me relax. I also collect coins and
stamps, I enjoy photography, and I relish judo.
Finally, I am the eldest male sibling (the only
one not yet married) of seven children, but the
second child born.
