My Introduction: |
Yah, I'm single. But your perfectly welcome to change that. :) My name is Amy. I enjoy adventure...Hike a new trail, read a good book, build a house out of popsicle sticks...Yes, Sir! (I do draw the line before free-fall rides, bungee- jumping, and the like, though :-). I love singing, playing the piano, reading, watching movies, playing with my nieces and nephews, and the outdoors. I am the oldest of six. Doctorate of Music degree and debt free from school!! I teach music lessons (piano and voice) and music courses at Dixie State University. One of the bravest things I have ever done is, as a second grader, confronting the big 6th grade boys; on the bus, asking them to quit using inappropriate language...See, by the time I got picked up for school, I had to sit close to the back, where no one wanted to be, by the big boys...It was scary and unpleasant. After many days of trying to work up the courage to confront the boys about their language (I was terrified), one day I finally did. I was almost positive my request would result in me being beaten up...I bravely persevered and spoke up anyways. To my request they replied-What will you give us?- I had two pieces of bubble gum (the kind in the pink and yellow wrappers) and said I would give them my bubble gum if they wouldn't use bad language any more. They said ok, took the gum and ate it, and, for the remainder of that bus ride, curtailed their language. The next day, they were back to their same old bad language. Working up the courage, knowing I would get beat up for sure this time, I asked them why they broke their promise so quickly, not to use such language any more. Their reply was-What do you expect for only a few pieces of bubble gum.- Luckily I didn't get beat up. The end of the story...Well, if you want to know that, you will just have to ask me out and find out. ;) ;) ;) One of the greatest blessings we can offer to the word is the power of a Christ-centered home. I do my best to do that now and aspire to do that with my own family someday. |
