I am here mainly to make friends because I'm preparing to leave the US for the Philippines, where I expect to live for several years (at least 5) and do not have time at present to invest in developing a serious relationship. Once I am settled in the Philippines that may change. I am not a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, nor will I be any time in the near future. The single word that best describes me is complex, with intelligent running a close second. Friends say I am loving, generous, kind, caring and understanding. People frequently think I am much younger than I actually am and people often think I am an engineer or a medical professional, or a mycologist or botanist, or some other kind of professional because I can converse comfortably in many fields. I have been married and divorced twice. I have 6 children living and 2 that have passed on, all from my first marriage. I have 24 grand children so far. I have had a challenging life. I was NOT born to goodly parents and have had many trials in life. I am still recovering from things I experienced in childhood, and during my youth. I have buried 2 of my children as toddlers, one having died from brain cancer and the other from a doctors mistake following an appendectomy. I have a rare and challenging sleep disorder which has made it exceptionally difficult to hold a steady job (unless I had complete control of my working hours) and have consequently struggled all my life financially. This disorder was only diagnosed a few years ago. I am also a high functioning Asperger person, which means I don't read people well nor communicate well, and I think very differently about many things Not withstanding the many challenges I have faced in life, the Lord has blessed and preserved me. I currently am living in Portland, Oregon, USA, but expect to leave for the Philippines in the not too distant future. I have some college education (about 2 1/2 years formally and about another 3 years informally, via open courseware, formal training in Real Estate and Stock Brokering and extensive independent study) and have had specialized training in specialty areas including payphone repair and maintenance and construction. I am addicted to learning and spend many hours each week reading and studying topics of personal interest and advancement. I work driving Uber and Lyft and I engage in a few small niche market businesses. One of which is a youtube channel: http://youtube.com/societyofenoch, which generates some of my monthly income. I am currently manufacturing and distributing an electro-magnetic massage machine I call the E Wave. The 5 year long trip to the Philippines is to oversee the construction and management of a small, eco-friendly, self sustaining community where we will generate our own power, grow our own food, and offer health care, education, jobs and much more to members of the community. This project, called the Society of Enoch Block Project, ( http://sites.google.com/site/soeblockproject ) will serve as a model for others to emulate worldwide. It will have 12 households that work together designed for all members to have all the basic necessities of life available to them. Every member of this planned community will have their own home, clean water, healthy food, power, health care, ongoing education, work/income, and social support, that cannot be taken away unless a person commits a crime that requires imprisonment or they do something so harmful that the entire community votes them out. We want to help members of the Block provide for all of the basic needs most spend their lives trying to secure for themselves and their families, so that members of the community can advance and grow personally and thereby contribute to society at large at a higher level, instead of expending all their time and energy just surviving and living in constant fear of loss. When I leave the Philippines I plan to be involved in the space industry which will likely have me living in the US, but there is no gaurentee. I expect to work on the development of a space mining business until I go into space, sometime in the mid to late 2040s. At least that's the plan. I have a firm testimony that cannabis is profoundly beneficial and believe it should be completely legalized; that it's current illegality is causing massive, unnecessary suffering and even death for millions of people in the US and billions around the world. As I mentioned above I have a relatively rare sleep disorder (circadian phase shift disorder) which cause my sleep cycle to move forward about 20 minutes per day, and includes many sleep anomalies that mean there will be many times when I am up all night and sleeping during the day. I chart my sleep and can offer reasonably accurate predictions about near term sleep hours, but longer term advanced scheduling is not something I can commit to. My hobbies include space, botany and mycology, gardening; raising specialty plants like hoyas bonsai, orchids and raising mycelium and mushrooms, bicycling, hiking, photography, videography, gold prospecting, placer mining, and writing. I am a tinkerer/inventor and am always working on some kind of project. I have a gift for fixing things that seem unrepairable. Given the proper tools and resources I believe I could fix a rainy day.
