I am a recently divorced Dad of three great kids
(ages 17, 13, and 11). My ex-wife and I share
custody. I have the kids with me from Friday thru
Tuesday every week. I also see them sporadically
on the other days as I help get them to and from
school, etc. Being a dad is my number one
priority. I love my kids and live to be with
them.
I do not consider myself the “divorcing kind.”
But here I am divorced. There is certainly a story
there, and I am happy to share, but it probably
doesn’t belong in my profile.
Now, I am happy to be moving on. I look forward to
finding someone to spend eternity with; someone
with similar priorities and interests.
Music plays a big part in my life. I own and
manage a musical instrument retail store that
specializes in the band and orchestra instruments
that kids *Email Blocked* business works very
closely with these students as well as the band
and orchestra directors at their schools. It is a
very rewarding line of work.
For fun, I play trumpet in the Reno Wind Symphony
as well as the Reno Municipal Band. It is a great
outlet for me personally, but it is also very good
for my business.
I am a very physically active person as well. This
is a part of me I only discovered in the last five
years. As a kid the idea of exercise was about as
far from my thoughts as possible. Then, several
years ago, I decided to go for a walk. That led to
bicycle riding which led to running. Now (in a
good week) I run six out of seven days. This is
very important because I love to eat, and if I
didn’t exercise, I’d be… well, you know.
My other interests can be summed up by this
statement: “I love to make memories with my
kids.”
I love to travel. I love both the outdoors and the
not-so-outdoors. We love to go to the park or to
take hikes on one of the many trails in the
mountains close to home. We love to go to the
beach. Camping is great fun for a couple of days,
but I also love a good hotel. There’s just
nothing quite like coming back to a freshened-up
hotel room after a long day of fun stuff.
My kids and I love a good theme park. We are
Disney junkies. We have had annual passes to
Disneyland several times in the past ten or so
years. But it doesn’t have to be Disney for us
to love it. We enjoy other amusement parks as
well. Last year we had season passes to Universal
Studios – this year it is Knott’s. It is
really all about spending fun time together…
regardless of where.
Church history is one of my interests. I feel a
part of something as I learn. Historical fiction
novels are one of my newer interests. I enjoy
taking my kids on vacations to church history
sites. Again, it is a great feeling to be a part
of our heritage.
When I am at home, I don’t fit the stereotype
for a man. For many years I have done all of the
laundry in my home. I also enjoy cooking and
cleaning in the kitchen. These simple yet
time-consuming tasks give me a sense of
accomplishment, and besides – a clean home is so
much more comfortable.
I have to admit that I enjoy watching TV too much
– it is my escape. I love a good story with fun
characters. The kids and I love to go to movies
too… for the same reasons.
I think that I am very young at heart. I feel like
I am twenty-something... even though my profile
and drivers license disagree.
Church activity is an integral part of my life. I
was born and raised in the church, and it has only
become more important to me over the past couple
of years. I enjoy all aspects of church activity;
from spiritual to social. I am convinced that the
gospel is the key to true happiness in this life.
Now I strive to get my kids to enjoy church
activity as much as I do. This is the reason that
my custody arrangements are as they are… so that
I have my kids on Sundays and can take them to
church with me.
… So that’s me in a nutshell. I am certain I
have left many things out. I look forward with the
type of reservations you might expect from someone
who has been out of the dating scene for so long.
But, I do look forward to finding someone to
complete my family. …Someone to make even more
memories with.
