Introduction:
It's like dancing with someone for the first time
- actually quite boring :P You ask the same
questions every time (name, age, job, school,
etc.), and if something interesting pops up, then
you ask for a 2nd dance! So here it goes, the
boring basics. If you find something interesting,
drop me a line! I took some ballroom dance classes
recently (really!), so perhaps we won't have to
wait until the next slow song for a 2nd dance
;)
After working full time for over 2 years in
construction and as a special education aide, I
returned to school full time in the spring. Prior
to that, I had received an Associate Degree from
my local community college, where I studied
Spanish and Biology. I am now majoring in
Linguistics instead of Biology, and will continue
in Spanish for a minor. I chose linguistics
because I fell in love with the German class I
took last spring! I will also be taking Chinese
next year to fulfill the requirement of 3
languages. I can't wait to be tri-lingual - buenos
dias, guten tag, ni hao! Ultimately I want to get
my Masters Degree and teach at a community
college. Working as a special education aide
confirmed to me that teaching was what I wanted to
do for a living! On the side I would like to be a
professional photographer and freelance author.
I'm currently building a collection of temple
pictures so I can publish a series of books of
temple photography! P.S.: On Monday August 4 I was
hired as an after-school tutor, YAY!
3 Favorite Things:
I love movies, dancing, and running! Those are
definitely my 3 favorite things! When I go to a
movie, I get totally lost to the world - the movie
(and the theater if I'm there) becomes my world.
When I go dancing, it's totally the opposite! The
world becomes one with me, the movement a perfect
expression of it. Running gives me a sense of
total freedom, where it's just me and myself. The
rhythm becomes a connection to my innermost
conscience.
3 Least Favorite Things:
1. Tearing up the house to find one little
thing.
2. SCRUBBING! (sometimes, the detail required
takes so much time that when you finish you have
to start all over again)
3. Traveling a long distance just for one
destination or activity. I prefer to be able to do
additional things on the way or while I'm
there.
10 Million Dollars:
I have hobbies that I've only been able to dip my
toe into because they are too expensive. Among
them are coin collecting, glider flying (I haven't
tried flying a plane with an engine yet, that's
something I'd do, too), and wood carving. I would
also make a difference by setting up scholarships
for scouts to attend scout camp.
Perfect Day:
A collection of my favorite hobbies. I would start
the day with an early morning run, after which I
would go to the Family History Library on the
grounds of the LA Temple for some genealogy
research. Next, I would spend a few hours taking
pictures of the temple for my book, after which I
would go to the Newport Beach Temple and do the
same. Late afternoon I would go to the beach to
ride sea-doos! Finally, I would unwind from the
sea-doo riding by practicing for the guitar class
I am actually taking right now.
Opportunity for Improvement:
I can express myself wonderfully in writing, but
have difficulty expressing myself in speech. It's
funny how I can write an entire essay on any given
subject off the top of my head, but can't think of
a single thing to say when I'm talking with
someone!

I used the previous section to put information
that other LDS dating sites provide space for.
Some sites provide a space for testimony, so I
will provide mine in this section. I apologize for
the length, it's the writer in me :P
President Monson: I have a picture of Jesus
smiling that strikes me differently from any other
picture of Him. It shows him in an everyday, just
being himself mood. This kind of look, I feel,
most accurately shows a person's true self, so it
really helps me to relate to my Savior! I also
have a picture of President Monson smiling. It is
that same everyday, just being himself expression.
When I put the two pictures together, the
resemblance is UNCANNY! The book of Revelation
says those who are Christ's will know him because
His image will be in their countenances. I KNOW
that President Monson is a true prophet, because
he DOES have the image of Christ in his
countenance!
Prayer: I recently said a prayer where I did not
ask for anything, nor did I plead on behalf of
another, nor did I express any gratitude.
Literally all I did was tell Heavenly Father what
was on my mind, and cry out my sadness on His
shoulder (I had just gone through a breakup). A
couple weeks later, I was in mid-prayer when the
sound of a theme song came into my room from the
TV in the next room over. This immediately
interrupted all my thoughts, as it sounded so
familiar but I just couldn't remember what show it
was! I asked Heavenly Father to excuse me for a
moment while I tried to figure it out, and
immediately I sensed the most distinct presence
next to me. I knew, I just knew, that this
presence was Heavenly Father, and He was actually
there to join me in speculating on what the song
was! He is God - He knows what song it is! - yet
this Father joined His son in speculating on the
song right in the middle of a prayer. One fact of
me is, nothing but a REAL God whose presence is
known just as really could get me to express these
emotions to a person I don't see with my natural
eyes. Because of these kinds of experiences, I
know my Father so intimately that doubt simply can
not be found in my mind that He lives, that He
loves me, and that I am His son.
