My son and I are native New Yorkers and live in a wonderful, safe and vibrant neighborhood in Manhattan. Like the son in "Sleepless in Seattle" my intelligent and good-hearted boy (he's 10) has been encouraging me lately to be open to finding that special lady to share my life with -- and his. I told him it's not as simple as ordering up a pizza!

Do not let the very formal attire of that particular evening mislead you. We are down to earth, casual dressers who like nothing more than to wrestle on the floor screaming in laughter. We have walked the fields of Ireland in our muck-splattered Wellies, climbed the steep Tatra mountains in Slovakia and emerged from a day of ocean fishing both in need of serious showers!

I am best suited for a woman of intelligence and introspection who is also real enough to laugh at her own foibles and excesses. You have the ability to say no and make it charming, and the self-awareness to know when its in your best interests to surrender your will.

Politically I am unapologetically Conservative, unashamedly patriotic, and shake my head at the absurdity of political correctness run amuck; I witnessed 9/11 with my own eyes, as did my son.

I keep myself fit because I want to live a long and healthy life and set a good example for my son; I would never ask more of you than I would of myself.

Your age is not all that important to me but your good heart, values and can-do spirit mean everything. You. like me, know from both faith and first-hand experience that God's infinite love and guidance informs your every step and has given you more blessings than you could have possibly hoped for. You do not want to be a resevoir of these gifts, but a river to pass them on to others.

I believe in mutually supporting each others interests and I look forward to learning about yours. I've heard it said that if two people devote themselves to each others pleasure and happiness, it is impossible for them to fail.

I'm an avid reader, writer, researcher, film afficionado. Love good music of any kind from Mozart to U-2 and enjoy dancing.

I make it a point to actually celebrate most annual holidays, (isn't that the point of the day off, after all?) believe strongly in the bonds of family, and am as equally interested in your ancestry as my own. If you love to learn more about history, particularly family history, I'm your ideal companion.

Now that it's summer, I enjoy the parks, museums, fishing, great food and Yankee baseball. I even have a private garden where we can barbeque and relax in privacy -- imagine that in the heart of Manhattan! I'm an urban animal to be sure, but also enjoy country get-aways. Big supporter of scouting.
