I'm Originally from Northern California, where I grew up on a ranch and was active in 4-H; funny but true. After graduating from BYU I spent a year in Chicago completing a dietetic internship (kind of a nutrition residency program). Currently I'm in Iowa for med school. Because of my nutrition background I like to talk to people about the benefits of eating well, but secretly I'm addicted to dried mangos, chocolate and Chinese food; they're high in fiber, right? Ooh, and I love running--my grandpa got me addicted when I was little. I also have an unsettling knack for telling mistruths (I can't say lying, b/c we all know where liars go), a skill which unfortunately goes unused...most of the time.

I know a little bit about a lot of different things - enough to fool people into thinking I'm educated. Someday I'd love to find a way to spend a little time each year working abroad amongst the medically underserved. And if I could be anywhere in the world whenever I wanted to, it would usually be somewhere lush and green.

When I have the time I love to go to plays, musicals and concerts. In the warmer season I like to go to the lake and bbq and play ultimate frisbee or go to the different festivals in the surrounding areas. Oh, and I would say going to clubs, but Iowa women are unusually forward and since I try not to let strangers touch my special places I generally choose to rock out in my apt or at church dances. And finally...to remind myself why I've chosen going into medicine I spend some time working at a Spanish speaking clinic.

I also spend each summer in Utah working for EFY, although this will be my last, b/c in September I move to Idaho to start rotations.
