Why am I worth meeting? Well, you will have to
make that determination. I am a little wacky --
my students sometimes call me weird because I love
to do unexpected things. I enjoy my job
especially storytelling. When my students say I'm
weird -- I say that it is part of the job
description. (But they aren't the only ones that
think that; the other librarians in the district
don't know what to make of me either.) My mind is
constantly moving with new ideas and fresh
approaches to literature and books so I can get
students interested in the magical world of books
and imagination.
My son is the most important person in my life
with my family coming in a close second. My
sister used to live close by me and we spent a lot
of time together. Her kids spent a lot of time
with me as well -- they are my second family.
They just recently moved to Utah and I miss them a
lot. I love living so close to my family. For
about a year or so, I lived away from them. It
was very hard, but it did allow my son and I to
grow closer together and become a better family
unit. Now we live near my family again and both
of us love that.
At church it seems I am always involved with the
youth. Currently, I am the Nursery music leader.
One of my favorite past callings was teaching the
12-13 year olds in Sunday School. The kids would
always come up with the most challenging
questions. I would host a party at my house twice
a year for them. They would come over for pizza
and a movie -- sometimes games. We all had a lot
of fun then. When they moved into the next class
(14-15 year olds), I moved with them. When they
moved onto the next class, I went back to the
12-13 years old and taught their brothers and
sisters. What fun!
Enough about church and onto me again. Have I
peeked your interest? Do you think I am worth
meeting? Like I said it is up to you to decide
that.

The thing I enjoy doing the most is spending time
with family and friends. Movies, reading,
writing, scrapbooking and stamping cards are
things I enjoy doing.
Being a school librarian of course I have to enjoy
books. But it goes beyond that. I have always
enjoyed reading. My friends know that I always
have a book in my purse for those little moments
when there is nothing to do -- such as, standing
in line, during commercials, etc.
Writing goes hand in hand with the reading. I
enjoy making up stories -- such as stories to
finish up a question I find in a book I've read or
fairy tales. I've even tried publishing a few --
but no luck so far. My nieces and nephews love to
have me tell them bedtime stories. I have a
running story about a magician bear that has to
find worthy occupants for Cloud City. Each neice
or nephew becomes a character in the story. My
son also has his own ongoing adventure story where
he travels through time and space.
Scrapbooking and stamping became hobbies because
of my youngest sister (the one who lived near me).
My mom says that she turned me onto them so I
would buy all the materials and she could use
them. Well, that's not too far off. I do have
more things than she does but we enjoy doing them
together because it gives us time to spend
together and talk.
Okay...I've talked a lot about myself now. What
all of this boils down to is that I mostly enjoy
spending time with those I love and care about.
Any activity that gives me that opportunity,
whether it is hiking, game playing, or just
sitting and visiting, I'm all for it -- sign me
up!
