Mark 'Fingermix' Smith has been playing piano
since the age of 5. By aged 11 he was already
performing his own compositions in school, a year
later having a main role in Shakespeare's 'The
Tempest'.
In 1997, Beverley Knight's label Dome Records
commissioned a remix for her 'Moving On Up'
single, under the name D-lux, which was single of
the week in UK blues and soul, going on to do
another remix from her album and work with two
other artists from the label, releases going
worldwide. Mark achieved a college grade
certificate in drama at his local college at the
time. In 2001, Mark went to America for almost 2
years, to tour, act and write in Utah, becoming
also known as the Mormon Stevie Wonder. Mark was
accepted as a volunteer, playing a slave in the
hit musical 'Civil War', highly praised and
offered more work by director Marylyn Montgomery,
performing on TV and at the Salt Lake 2002 Winter
Olympics.
