I have many interests and hobbies, and these are a
few:
Art- I love to draw and paint, especially in
watercolors. My main passion is painting animals,
as well as landscapes. I also have a small
collection of watercolor paintings I've done of
the LA temple. It's a great hobby.
Animals- I'm without doubt an animal lover! I love
animals of all shapes and sizes. I currently have
over twenty pets in my home, which include: 1 dog,
3 cats, 2 rats, 2 mice, 1 toad, 1 newt, 1 frog, 1
tarantula, 4 goldfish, and 7 birds. You might say
I collect pets!
Children- I'm currently studying early childhood
education at my local city college. The main
reason why I decided to get into this field was
because I wanted to preapre myself to be a mother
someday. I'm also planning on becoming a
preschool teacher, but that's not something I will
want to do permanently. Right now I'm working in
my mother's daycare, trying to save up money for
school. The children keep me feeling young.
Reading- I love to read! Other than the
scriptures, my favorite books are normally
fantasy. Some of my favorites are the "Lord
of the Rings" and the "Harry
Potter" books. I love fantasy! I like some
sci-fi, too, but fantasy is definitely tops for
me. Good stuff!
Movies- I have a wide taste in what type of
movies I watch, except that I don't watch rated R
movies, and not too many PG-13s. Some of my all
time favorites are: Lord of the Rings (of
course), Princess Bride, Star Wars (original),
Sound of Music, Ever After, National Velvet, The
Scarlett Pimpernal, The Kid, Shrek, Singing in the
Rain, The Man From Snowy River, Neverending Story,
and so on.
Music- There is always music playing in my home.
Right now I'm learning how to play hymns so that I
can prepare myself to accompany during church
meetings. I'm also learning how to play primary
songs. My favorites are the ones by Janice Kapp
Perry (I'm Trying to Be Like Jesus, Child's
Prayer, Love is Spoken Here, etc.).
Outdoors: I love being outside! I'm a nature
girl, and I love being up in the mountains, at the
beach, in the desert--- AWAY FROM THE CITY!!! I
enjoy camping, swimming, horseback riding, biking,
walking, hiking (I just need to get out more and
do them more often).
Other things I like to do: I like board games,
card games, video games, and so on. I like having
fun! Singing with friends is always fun for me.
Going to church dances, going to the movies,
eating out, amusement parks, hanging out with
friends, cuddling, playing tennis, going to
outdoor concerts, cleaning my room (jk), going on
these single sites, writing for fun, photography,
being silly, going to the gym----these are all
things I like to do, and there's probably a lot
more.
Gospel: I love going to church activities and
feeling the Spirit in my life. I know the church
is true, and I am so grateful to be here on Earth
during these last days. I'm trying daily to
improve myself, and to maintain good habits, so
that I can become the best person I can be. I'm
trying to establish a strong habit in reading my
scriptures and praying regularly with my heart
fully into it. The great thing about the gospel
is we don't have to be perfect now, we just need
to try every day to become a little better, and to
establish good habits bit by bit. Everything
comes "line upon line." The gospel's
great!
At the end of my profile I would like to add a
quote given by Margaret D. Nadauld, from the
November 2000 Ensign. She describes the woman I
want to be.
"The world has enough women who are tough; we
need women who are tender. There are enough women
who are coarse; we need woman who are kind. There
are enough women who are rude; we need women who
are refined. We have enough women of fame and
fortune; we need more women of faith. We have
enough greed; we need more goodness. We have
enough vanity; we need more virtue. We have enough
popularity; we need more purity."
My goal is to become a more righteous daughter of
God, and to become more pure and Christlike. I
intend to marry and be sealed in the temple
someday, to someone who will be mine "for
time and all eternity." I want a marriage
that will last. I've had guys tell me that they
get tired of hearing the same old "temple
marriage thing" in Mormon girls profiles, so
I hope I don't sound too repetitive. What I'm
looking for in my future spouse is someone who is
not perfect, but who desires to be. I want
someone who will put the Lord first in his life,
and encourage me to do so, as well. I have a long
way to go before I reach perfection, but I'm
excited to be on the road that will get me there.
I'm glad to be a member of the church!
