I've recently divorced, moved from Wyoming and
don't know many people. I live in Davis County,
work in Salt Lake. I have two young boys that are
very active, and they consume most of my free
time. I'd like to be friends with someone with
kids as well, so it can be a play date for them as
well as grownup time for us. I'm willing to work
for a relationship, once there's an established
friendship made. General friends and people to
hang out with are great too!
I have been thrown many curveballs in my life and
I am trying to learn from them. I also believe in
honesty and will tell you now that I was inactive
in the church for many years. Returned to full
activity in mid-2007 after the death of the
greatest man I ever knew, my father. Temple
worthy and I am currently the Webelos Asst in my
ward.
Because of my previous inactivity I feel
inadequate and small compared to those around me.
I am looking for someone who is spiritually tall
and emotionally strong who can be supportive to me
and my children as we progress through this life,
grow spiritually and learn all we can. My oldest
boy wants to serve a mission; because of this I
would prefer a relationship with someone who has
served a mission - stories of the gospel and of
conversion interest my son and I feel that would
be a great example for him. My youngest is a
struggle and I worry that without that type of
proper example he may choose a different path in
life, as his father did. Personally coming from
that path and having to learn from those mistakes,
what future path he may choose scares me
tremendously.
I'm a geek. I've been around computers since
junior high, and have enjoyed them all my life.
Everything I know has come from being self-taught
and absorbing all I can from the internet,
information from others and my own experiences. I
want to pursue higher education - something I
never did when I was younger and now regret not
doing so. I did attend WSU for a year, but not in
education. In the 90-91 year I had a full
schedule of Institute classes which included the
choir.
I work because it is necessary. Would I stay home
and take care of my children, or others that may
be in my care? Yes, if one income could provide
for our needs and allow us to save for
retirement.
I'm quite independent. As a single mom I have to
take care of everything and am unable to rely on
anyone else. Because of these things, I am
trying to offer my children some stability; as
they are both boys, they need a reliable,
dependable and trustworthy male role model, and
father.
Do I want more kids, or would I be interested in a
man who has his own? For the record, I'm the
product of a yours-mine-ours family - so you can
answer that one on your own. :)
I'm also a talker - wordy in comparison to many
others. I enjoy intelligent and enlightened
conversation - but don't take this wrong! I enjoy
frivolity as much as the next person.
I'm not a shopper. I don't go and buy things
because they are "on sale" or "I
want it" - your wallet is safe with me! :)

I love the outdoors. I love to fish for fun and
food (one time I was at Strawberry Res and with 5
people in our party and 11 fish caught, 7 were
mine). I like camping and boating but I haven't
had very many opportunities in recent years to do
so. Our family recently purchased all new bikes
and we like to ride together. Both of my children
taught themselves to ride a bike (no training
wheels) in less than an hour. What talent! They
must take after their mother..... I am a fast
learner, and usually absorb the things around me.
I have many interests and hobbies, but my kids
keep me busy and I don't have a lot of time to
myself. I enjoy photography, scrapbooking,
cooking, working on the computer and the internet
(web 2.0 intrigues me). I like to read, I like to
go to the park with the kids, the library with
them, and try to do things that are fun and
educational for them. I love to go to the movies,
but it's not in the current budget.
I'm fumbling with the bass guitar.... trying to
learn. It's fun, but I stink! I would love to
take some lessons and figure out if I really like
doing this or not!
I was in the band all through junior high and high
school. I played the trombone, baritone, french
and english horns. I had lots of friends in band
who would let me try their instruments - so I
fumbled with the flute, the tuba and the saxophone
(I was a brass girl, reed instruments were
difficult).
I love to sing. I enjoy church music, karaoke,
singing in the shower and the car. My father had
a dream of being in the Tabernacle Choir,
something I would love to be able to do (yet I
feel my talent is inadequate). I love music of
all kinds, with a higher tolerance to some more
than others.
Here's a fair warning - If my profile worries you
- my years of inactivity and the struggles I have
with my children - look elsewhere. This is me.
Nobody is perfect. My choices made me who I am
today - whether good or bad. The trick to it all
is learning from them so they aren't made again.
Are you the person who can understand these
complexities? Are you intrigued on how much truth
of myself I've put on this site? Then send me a
message and let's see if we can be friends.
I'm sure there's more about me I haven't said
(even though I've said a mouthful). Just ask. I
am a paid member so I can receive your
messages.
I intend on putting more pictures online - but as
I'm usually the one holding the camera they are
hard to find. The one I have here now was taken
Feb 2007.
