After 34 years of living in German-speaking Europe I have returned to the US. Have a PhD in clinical psychology - my second profession, as I had studied music and voice in Austria and had been on the opera stage as a singer for several years. Synthezing principles and techniques out of voice music, psychosomatics, psychology and medicine for use in music therapy, various areas of psychotherapy and pedagogy became a primary goal in my professional life. As a mother of 2 teenage daughters I have been engaged in their school educations, have also designed teaching aids for elementary school teaching, have written, taught and am still singing concerts, accompanying and coaching, composing and conducting mainly in the choral setting. I consider myself to be fairly difficult to categorize at first glance, but behind the seemingly inconsistencies (at times very vivacious, and at other times very quiet and studious, explosive and rational, fun-loving and serious, sociable and also at times very needing of personal space, very interested in diverse topics, a pragmatist and artist in one package, etc.) I feel is a stable personality, who at the same time, loves to let the "inner child" run free. I have a dog (Chinese Shar pei) and a cat of the "Swiss-alley-cat" variety.

I am interested in antiques, various periods and types of architecture, painting, sculpture and interior design. Biology (neurobiology) and Physiology are all main points of interest, and the person who can explain quantum physics to an orang-utan would be an attractive conversation partner for me. A sense of humor, a feeling for theater and the dramatic and maybe a romantic appreciation (even for the poetry I write - I have written most of my own texts for the songs and choral music which I compose): These are dimensions of my life's joys. I am English-German bilingual, speak a certain amount of French and Italian and am learning Spanish. I love gourmet cooking and entertaining. Improvising in many aspects of daily life (food, furniture) and finding new solutions to various problems in a creative, sometimes inexpensive fashion belongs to my life style.
