Let me introduce myself by telling you about an experience that I had a few weeks ago -- a profound experience that reminds me of the scope of eternity, our place in that scope -- which was established before we ever entered mortality -- and our purpose for being here at this time and in this place......I was in the parking lot of a local department store and was getting in my vehicle. At the same moment that I was closing my door and preparing to turn the ignition, there was a couple with a small child passing in front of me with the child sitting in their shopping cart. At first the child was just looking around and the look on her face was amazing. It was as if she had just come from the pre-mortal life and looked aboout with bewilderment, thinking, "what is this I've come to?" Then she noticed my, broke into a wide grin and waved excitedly. I had the distinct impression at that very moment -- and I don't think I've ever really had this particular impression before in the same way -- that I had known her before either of us came to earth - perhaps even as her teacher. I waved back and the parents looked quite surprised -- completely unaware, I believe, of the spiritual exchange that had just taken place. I drove away in awe of the experience and pondering my place in the universe. I couldn't help but think about the mission that each one of us is here to fulfill. That little girl reminded me of at least part of my purpose here in mortality. I love to ponder such spiritual ideas.
