I love life and I love serving others. After many
years of being solo, I think I am ready to at
least look at a significant friendship. I am a
full time student and beginning a new career as a
vocational counselor. I am an Army veteran and
tend to enjoy the company of other vets. I cook,
I clean, and I am not too bad lookin'. (Grand
sense of humor.)
I think my children would say that I was good to
them. Five of my children are home grown and two
are adopted. I was a foster parent many years ago
and I really love children. I work with learning
disabled teens in a private school. This is my
third school year working in the classroom, and I
was recently hired as a vocational counselor.
I joined the Church when I was in college the
first time. I took my endowments in 1990 and
attended the Temple often until my divorce in
1997.
I know looking for a mate is different than
looking for friendships. I would hope a mate
would come from a strong friendship. I think I
know how to be a friend. Time will prove if I
will be more.
I am a student at George Fox University, and
expect to graduate in December of 2007 with a
degree in social and behavioral sciences. The VA
has arranged for me to complete a graduate program
so we will see where it all leads me.
I think grad school is going to be in school
counseling. I am learning a lot about the mental
health issues of young people and really believe I
can make a difference. My Patriarchal Blessing
speaks of influencing many children and maybe this
is where He wants me.
I recently went to Salt Lake and Alaska, I will
post Temple pics soon.

Altho I have attended the School of Poor Choices
for many years, I do have talents and skills. I
am a decent cook and love most of what are
considered home arts. I like hiking and being out
of doors, I hunt with a camera. Politically in
the middle of the road, ran for State Senate at
one point.
When time permits, I enjoy quilting. I have a
quilting blog but I have not added much to it
since school started. I also do a lot of crochet.
The last few months, I have been making scarves
for homeless vets and a few small blankets for
children.
I love the chance to get out in my small yard
and garden. From March until October, you would
be more likely to find me outside. My parents
live near by and my dad plants a HUGE garden so, I
have plenty of opportunities to weed and
cultivate.
I am serious about finding a long term friend.
Please ... do not fill my mailbox with stories
about needing me to bank your money for you. I am
not interested. And I am not interested in some
pyramid scam.
